Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre Marks the 99^th Birthday of Extraordinary Volunteer Alex Zayachkowsky

 Alex Zayachkowsky blows out candles  on his cake, at the surprise birthday party organized by his fellow volunteers, residents, friends and staff of the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre.  Since the young age of 88, Alex has helped organize and set up “A Sing-A-Long” every Wednesday afternoon.  “The music, singing, dancing and laughter of this weekly event is a highlight for the residents, says Sandy Lomaszewycz, Executive Director.  “Without the caring of Alex, and our other volunteer musicians and singers, our residents would not enjoy the health and social benefits of live music and singing.”
