Roman
Tashleetsky Joins New Pathway as Columnist
The New Pathway Ukrainian Weekly Newspaper
is pleased to announce the appointment of Roman Tashleetsky as an additional
Kyiv-based columnist.
Roman, a native of Rivne,
Ukraine,
graduated with a Master’s degree in English and French Language and Literature
from the Lesia Ukrainka National University of Volyn. He is currently a
graduate student at the Taras
Shevchenko
National
University
in Kyiv, and is working on a dissertation on Ukrainian translations of William
Shakespeare.
He is also working as a
translator for the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union in Kyiv.
In 2002, Roman was a
participant in the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program (CUPP) in Ottawa,
which is sponsored by the Chair of Ukrainian Studies Foundation, and a CUPP
coordinator in 2003. In addition, he has
received a number of awards and scholarships, and attended the Harvard
University Summer Institute in 2005.
Roman is a member of the
Plast scouting organization in Ukraine
and a former reporter/journalist for Street TV and The Lutsk Molody newspaper.
