UWC Welcomes UN Resolution on Ukraine’s Territorial Integrity
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) welcomes the United Nations resolution of March 27, 2014 which underscored the commitment of governments in the world to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and confirmed that the so-called referendum in Crimea and Sevastopol of March 16, 2014 has no validity.
The support expressed by the international community, including the UWC, resulted in 100 of the 193 UN member states voting in favour of the Ukraine-sponsored resolution. Only 10 countries joined Russia in opposing the resolution, and 58 abstained from voting.
“With this condemnation by UN member states of Russia’s forceful annexation of Crimea, the free world has delivered a strong message on the inviolability of Ukraine`s borders,” commented UWC President Eugene Czolij.
