MP Peggy Nash elected Vice-Chair of

Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group

April 8, 2014 – At tonight’s Annual General Meeting of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, Parkdale–High Park MP Peggy Nash was elected Vice-Chair by fellow Members of Parliament.

“I am honoured to have been elected to the position of Vice-Chair,” said Nash. “At this challenging time for Ukraine, it is crucial the bond between our countries remains strong.”

Nash also offered congratulations to the newly elected Chair, Ted Opitz, MP for Etobicoke-Centre.

“I look forward to working with fellow parliamentarians to strengthen the ties between Canada and Ukraine and I thank the Ukrainian-Canadian community at home in Toronto for their tireless efforts to foster this important relationship.”
