 Michael James Curry passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, after a brief illness on Thursday, March 31, 2011 in his 58th year. Beloved son of the late Robert and Martha Curry. Loving brother of Gaye Ann Hainsworth. “Uncle Mike” to Robert and Andrew Hainsworth. Dear nephew of Mary Kuzyk. A brilliant musician and educator, Michael worked as a music teacher for 25 years with the Toronto District School Board and hosted the Centre Stage segment of the Ukrainian television program Kontakt. His second home was Ukraine to which he travelled frequently, forging lasting relationships with numerous Ukrainian artists. A funeral service was held in the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Chapel of All Saints of Ukraine, 1280 Dundas St. W., Oakville ON L6M 4H9 or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
