Ukrainian Festival Rocks with Haydamaky
In its 13th year, the Toronto
Ukrainian Festival, September 18-20, 2009, continues to be one of the most
anticipated events of the season, and especially so this year as it presents
Ukraine s Kozak Rock Band Haydamaky in the Bloor West Village on
Saturday Evening, September 19th, 2009 (see www.haydamaky.com). Thanks to the large in part financial support
of the Ministry of Tourism - Celebrate Ontario 2009 Program, we are delighted
to present one of Europe s
most popular bands , says Jurij Klufas, Festival President. According to
Oleksandr Yarmola, Haydamaky band leader "Our mission is to make
contemporary Ukrainian culture "cool", trendy, fashionable, adopted
into other world cultures and to gain for young Ukraine the widest possible
recognition throughout the world." Haydamaky are currently working
on their fifth CD.

Largest Ukrainian Street Festival - your opportunity to experience Ukrainian
culture and hospitality at its best. As
always, there will be non-stop entertainment with Ukrainian performers from the
Greater Toronto Area, Canada, the
USA and Ukraine
which will include dancers, vocalists and musicians. Do not miss the youth
segment on the Grand Stage at Jane
Street! And if you wish, join the
Street Dance at the evening Zabava on both Friday and Saturday Nights.
You will find vendor kiosks
featuring delicious authentic Ukrainian food, beverages and beautiful
souvenirs. Discover interactive pavilions and more. This year, you can also
enjoy shopping at the Sidewalk Sale presented by local Bloor West Village
businesses. There is a midway and attractions for kids and youth. Take in the
colourful parade on Saturday morning at 11am. A new attraction this year is the Art Show
& Sale organized by the Ukrainian Association of Visual Artists of Canada.
Make sure to visit CFRB Radio 1010's remote broadcast booth, broadcasting live
from the Festival. This festival is a wonderful experience for the entire
family!

Jane or Runnymede Station.
