UCC Applauds Ihor Kozak as “Top 25 Canadian Immigrant”

Ihor KozakThe Ukrainian Canadian Congress congratulates Ihor Kozak for being chosen a winner among the “Top 25 Canadian Immigrants 2011”.

“For me, the crucial aspect of ‘giving back’ has been staying actively engaged with the Ukrainian Diaspora”, stated Ihor Kozak. “I believe it is paramount to ensure that our community continues to prosper as part of the overall Canadian multicultural mosaic. It is also very important to continue promoting our core Canadian values in Ukraine”. He points to previous generations of Ukrainians as his inspiration - people who immigrated to Canada at times of war, with nothing but a will to make a new beginning and succeed in raising great families, building strong communities and making Canada one of the best countries in the world.

UCC National President Paul Grod stated: “Ihor continues to be involved in the Ukrainian Canadian community and shares his leadership skills with all those working on charitable projects with him. It is especially fitting in 2011, as we celebrate the 120th Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Canada, that a Ukrainian Canadian receives this prestigious award.”

Ihor served as a decorated officer for his leadership in the Canadian military, both at home and abroad, obtained an MBA and is a successful entrepreneur in Oshawa, Ont.

The Top 25 Canadian Immigrants is a people’s choice award program that recognizes immigrants’ achievements from all walks of life. The award is presented by Canadian Immigrant magazine and sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada.
