Ukrainian Canadian Congress Toronto Branch

Dear Supporter,

On the weekend of August 22nd 2009 our community in Toronto and surrounding area will be celebrating the 18th Anniversary of Ukrain's Independence.  Once again, we will be marking this event at Centennial Park in Toronto (Etobicoke), Ontario.

The Toronto Branch of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress will be hosting a variety of fun-filled recreations.  Based on last year’s popularity, we anticipate crowds upwards of 10,000 to fill the grounds with people of all ages.  Brief greetings from various dignitaries will officially open the festivities, and then continue with an outdoor music and folk dance concert.  Offered throughout the day will be a multitude of activities: games and amusement rides at the “Children’s Corner”; soccer, volleyball and chess tournaments; a Ukrainian Idol Contest; a music festival; a Ukrainian Food Court; and vendors and colourful crafts tables at the traditional “Yarmarok” and mini “Flea Market”.  The Evening Zabava will cap off the festivities.  Simply put - there will be something for everyone.

Media exposure will be multi-level.  Television, radio, and the press such as The Toronto Sun, The Toronto Star, Etobicoke Guardian, and Mississauga News will broadly publicize our event.  50,000 flyers will be distributed.  A 4’ x 40’ banner of the major sponsors will be erected on stage-site.  Sponsor's names will also be printed prominently in our Concert Programme booklet.  Most notably, photo-filled links to our website, www.ucctoronto.ca, are bound to attract many interested visitors.

We invite you to support this very important event and fundraiser.
