Ukraine Election: Yanukovych Wins 35.32% of Counted Votes,

KYIV - Presidential candidate, leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych won 35.32% votes, and presidential candidate, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko received 25.05% votes, according to results of vote count of 100% protocols of district election commissions. Central Election Commission provided the data.

Serhii Tihipko won 13.06% votes, Arseniy Yatseniuk won 6.96%, Viktor Yushchenko 5.45%, Petro Symonenko 3.55%, Volodymyr Lytvyn 2.35%, Oleh Tiahnybok 1.43%, Anatolii Hrytsenko 1.20%, and Inna Bohoslovska 0.41%. In addition, 2.20% of voters did not support any of the presidential candidates.

Ukrainian citizens voted in the first round to elect at a President at polls 8:00 am. through 8:00 pm. on January 17. A total of 18 candidates contested the elections.

The Central Election Commission created 225 constituencies for the presidential elections and 33,496 polling stations, and 113 polling stations abroad. The CEC registered 3,149 foreign observers for the presidential elections in Ukraine.
