KYIV - Presidential candidate, leader of the Party of
Regions Viktor Yanukovych won 35.32% votes, and presidential candidate, Prime
Minister Yulia Tymoshenko received 25.05% votes, according to results of vote
count of 100% protocols of district election commissions. Central Election
Commission provided the data.
Serhii
Tihipko won 13.06% votes, Arseniy Yatseniuk won 6.96%, Viktor Yushchenko 5.45%,
Petro Symonenko 3.55%, Volodymyr Lytvyn 2.35%, Oleh Tiahnybok 1.43%, Anatolii
Hrytsenko 1.20%, and Inna Bohoslovska 0.41%. In addition, 2.20% of voters did
not support any of the presidential candidates.
Ukrainian
citizens voted in the first round to elect at a President at polls 8:00 am.
through 8:00 pm. on January 17. A total of 18 candidates contested the
elections.
The
Central Election Commission created 225 constituencies for the presidential
elections and 33,496 polling stations, and 113 polling stations abroad. The CEC
