Parliament of Canada Speakers Appreciate Copy of Pylyp Orlyk Constitution Presentation

On August 10, 2010, Dr. Ihor Ostash, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, received a thank-you letter from the Honourable Peter Milliken, Speaker of House of Commons, Parliament of Canada, for a copy of the Ukrainian Constitution by Pylyp Orlyk.

A special edition of the Ukrainian Constitution by Pylyp Orlyk in Latin, English, French and Ukrainian was specially presented in the Parliament of Canada on May 11, 2010, on the occasion celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Ukrainian Constitution, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada and the Canada Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group.

“It was a pleasure to celebrate this notable milestone in your country’s political history with you and members of the Ukrainian community. It is my hope that occasions such as these will continue to develop a long and mutually beneficial friendship between Canada and Ukraine”, - as stated in the Hon. Peter Milliken’s letter.

Earlier, the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada received a thank-you letter from the Honourable Noël Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, Parliament of Canada.
