Drozdyuk Superb in Dance on CTV Competition Stage

Ukrainian Canadian professional dancer Denys Drozdyuk, 25, from Toronto is a finalist in the “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” competition (Season 3) on CTV.  He said it was a combination of hard work and good luck that helped him make it into the Top 22. “The competition thus far has taught me that no matter what the circumstances, I must always stay professional and dedicated to what I do. No matter how I feel, I still need to perform my job 110%,” said Drozdyuk.Drozdiuk_Denys.tif

The public in Canada can vote for contestants after each show by registering their vote by phoning a toll-free number assigned to each dancer (see details below).

Born in Chernivsti, Ukraine, Denys first started dancing ballroom at age 4. He moved to Toronto when he was 12, and at 14, he was back in Europe studying and training in Berlin. At 19, Denys was enrolled at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. Upon graduation, Denys continued with a Masters Program in Dance Education at New York University.

A three-time winner of world championship titles in ballroom, Denys has collaborated with many notable choreographers including Peter Maxwell, Ruud Vermej, Allan Tornsberg, Franco Formica, June McMurdo, Brigitte Kluckes-Findeis, Janet Marmulla, Vibeke Toft, and Hanz-Rheinhard Galke. Although his primary style of dance is ballroom, Denys is also trained in contemporary, ballet, latin, afro-latin, jazz, flamenco, and tap, and has danced the world over.
