Congratulations on your Ukrainian Veteran Award
Mr
Armin Konn, who lives in Scarborough Ontario, was awarded the Bohdan
Khmelnytski Medal, third level, which is awarded to veterans for
distinguished war time service. He also recently received the Queen’s
Jubilee Medal for his lifelong work with Canadian Air Cadets,
Squadron 618 on Queen Street. He teaches young cadets how to fly and
relays his fascinating stories of his World War II experiences. All
his cadets enjoy their mentor and teacher and were delighted with his
recent awards and distinctions. These are not his only medals. In the
past, Mr. Konn received several awards from the Ukrainian government,
including an award for being a “Veteran of World War II” from
President Leonid Kravchuk in 1994. Former Canadian Ambassador Yurij
Scherbak awarded Mr. Konn with a “Defender of the Homeland” medal
in 2001, in Ottawa. We welcome distinguished Mr Armin Konn with his
new award and wish him continued good health, boundless energy and
continued motivation to work in and serve the community
