Greg Hamara Launches Bid for Toronto City Council

TORONTO – Journalist and Ukrainian community activist Greg Hamara opened his campaign office on Saturday, September 23 to run for City Council in Ward 13 in the November 13 City of Toronto municipal elections.

Mr Hamara is an award-winning newspaper journalist, co-founder and former chair of the Bloor West Village Residents’ Association and the owner of Wordsmith Communications Inc. In the years1999-2005 he was a member of the  Board of Directors of St. Vladimir Institute and served as the Institute’s President in 2001-2004. He has worked in Ukraine as a civil society fieldworker on a legislative project. His candidacy has already been endorsed by MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj and Kontakt Ukrainian TV Program President Jurij Klufas.

Mr Hamara’s campaign office is located at 357 Jane Street, just south of Annette Street.–Oksana Zakydalsky
