UCCL Foundation Launches Website and New Awards

The Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Foundation (UCCLF) has established a significant on-line presence with a new website (www.UCCLF.ca). We also have a Facebook page and a Twitter page (twitter.com/ucclf). Likewise, email inquiries may be sent to scholarships@ucclf.ca.

Information can be found on-line about UCCLF’s third annual Holodomor-themed scholarship initiatives. One scholarship outlines details pertaining to the High School Civil Liberties Award, and the other outlines details pertaining to the Civil Liberties Opinion-Editorial Award (open to both high school as well as post-secondary students).

The UCCLF has made two further scholarship opportunities available to students. The Internment Recognition High School Award and the Internment Recognition Opinion-Editorial Award have continued UCCLF’s tradition of encouraging students to engage in researching civil liberties themes. These awards focus students’ attention on Canada’s first national internment operations of 1914-1920.

The deadline for both of these awards is April 30, 2011.
