Ukraine Remembers Kruty Young Heroes

President Victor Yushchenko, Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Ministers and Verkhovna Rada deputies took part in a wreath laying ceremony near the memorial honouring Kruty heroes, buried near Askold’s Tomb.

Askold’s Tomb is an historic place in Kyiv’s hills. Kyiv’s Prince Askold, was buried there in 882. Since 1786, there has been a graveyard – a burial place of many prominent public figures, scientists and cultural workers. In March 1918, numerous young people killed in the Battle of Kruty were solemnly buried in this place.
