Levac Receives Ukraine’s Order of Merit

Ontario MPP for Brant, Dave Levac received Ukraine’s Medal for the Order of Merit (Third Degree), awarded by decree by former President Viktor Yushchenko, for Levac’s significant personal contribution in the commemoration of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine 1932-33, and activities in Canada informing about the Holodomor. The Order of Merit was bestowed upon Mr. Levac by the Government of Ukraine and presented by Ukraine’s Ambassador in Canada, HE Ihor Ostash, in a ceremony held on January 22 in Brantford, Ontario, attended by members of the Levac Family, Consul General of Ukraine in Toronto, Oleksandr Danyleiko, His Worship Mayor of Brantford, Chris Friel, and representatives of the Ukrainian Canadian community.
