Roxolana Chwaluk Graduates in Drama

Roxolana Olha Chwaluk is the daughter of Zenon and Orysia Chwaluk, long time members of the Ukrainian National Federation and Ukrainian Women’s Organization (Toronto). Roxolana was born in Toronto and completed her public school education, graduating with academic distinction from Etobicoke’s Richview Collegiate in 2005.

Roxolana completed her degree at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in the Drama in Education and Society program in May 2009. She has been actively involved in university and community activities such as Brock Improv, Brock Connections, and the “Turn Around Project” that assists over 100 children in Jamaica to attend a free integrated arts program to increase their chances to improve their life and has raised over $10,000 for this cause.

For her significant contribution to the campus life at Brock University, Roxolana received the Dramatic Arts Award and the David and Terry Atkinson Award.

She has been the recipient of many awards and scholarships, amongst them the Volunteer Award in memory of Panas Stepura from So-Use Credit Union, as well as being on the Dean’s List three times.

Roxolana was Past President of the Ukrainian Students’ Club at Brock, a member of the Ukrainian National Youth Federation (MUNO). She articipates in sporting activities softball, hockey and volleyball, and pursues other interests.

Volunteer experiences include Bad Dog Theatre, Toronto International Improv Festival, Taste of the Danforth, Kidney Foundation, March of Dimes, and the Toronto Ukrainian Festival in Bloor West Village.

Roxolana has been accepted by Brock Teacher’s College, reputably one of the best in Ontario, where she is currently continuing her studies and community involvement.
