Alberta-Ukraine Genealogical Project
“We know who you are / Ми про вас знаємо!” Campaign’s “How-to” Seminar Series Continues
Edmonton – As part of its campaign of the past several years - “We know who you are / Ми про вас знаємо!”, the Alberta-Ukraine Genealogical Project will be resuming its successful “how-to” seminars for the next several months.
“The growing interest and enthusiasm of people who are piecing together their family history is indeed exciting”, says Radomir Bilash, Project Manager of the Alberta-Ukraine Genealogical Project. “We encourage anyone who might need our help to attend these sessions”.
There is no charge for the seminars, which generally take place from 6:30 pm. to 9:00 pm. Participants will be given assistance and advice on how to fill out this year’s nomination forms for the Centenary Pioneer Recognition Program. As well, finding aids, research guides, and displays developed by the Project will help people who are undertaking family history projects. Presentations and handouts will cover topics such as: How to locate and retrieve archival records, and other pertinent documents; How to locate and understand homestead records; Using Canada’s early censuses; How to use church records and cemeteries to complete family history searches; and others.
