New Book by Walter Kish

New Pathway Publishers and Walter (Volodymyr) Kish, a regular columnist with this newspaper, have announced the publication of his  first book, Here and There – Reflections of a Hyphenated Ukrainian. It is a compilation of the best of Kish’s weekly columns published in The New Pathway. They have been grouped into chapters by theme, including Ukrainian History, Language, Culture and Traditions, Humour, Post Soviet Ukraine, The Orange Revolution, Daily Life, Kyiv, Lviv, Travel in Ukraine and Miscellaneous.

The book will be officially introduced at a Book Launch on Sunday, February 21 at 3 pm. at St. John’s Odesa Hall in Oshawa, Ont., where the author currently resides. Similar launches are being planned within the next month or two for most major cities within Southern Ontario, including Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Sudbury, Windsor and possibly others. Details to be released soon.

Walter Kish has been writing for The New Pathway for over a decade, and his columns are one of the newspaper’s most popular features. He has been active in the Ukrainian community for most of his life, rising to leadership positions in many Ukrainian organizations. He currently sits as a Board Member of the New Pathway as well as that of the Ukrainian Credit Union. He also serves on the boards of the Canada Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Journalists Association of North America. In addition, he is the President of the Durham Region UNF Branch and the Vice President of the Durham Region UCC Branch in Ontario. In his professional career, he is currently a senior IT Manager with the Ontario government.
