Chicago Tribute

Author and Chicago native Myron Kuropas celebrates his community and cultural heritage in his new book from Arcadia Publishing - Ukrainians of Chicagoland - an historical snapshot of one of the most dynamic ethnic communities in the United States. He hopes that the book introduces readers to “the rich, multifaceted culture which continues to attract talented and committed people willing to preserve and develop it”. The highlights of Ukrainians of Chicagoland include:

•Over 200 vintage images;

•The story of Ukrainian Village and the individuals who saved it, turning it into one of Chicago’s premier neighbourhoods and;

•Outstanding Ukrainian-Americans who have won political, economic and artistic recognition. The book is regarded as a gift to Ukrainians in Chicagoland on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the founding of St. Nicholas Parish, the formal beginning of the community with roots going back to the 1880’s.

Myron Kuropas holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He has spent many years studying and has written three books on Ukrainian Immigration history.
