The Ukrainian National Federation (UNF) and the Ukrainian Womens Organization (UWO), Windsor Branch, held its Annual Picnic August 11 at the Windsor Campground in Essex County. The event was well attended by a cross-section of Ukrainian supporters from different organizations and churches in the area.

Under the leadership of UNF President Taras Rohatyn and UWO President Nina Nedin, all members contributed their time and effort with everyone enjoying holubtsi, pyrohy, sausages, salads and refreshments. Many of the local campers who visited the food and bar outlets look forward to this yearly event and the opportunity to try our traditional Ukrainian foods.

The annual Picnic each August provides not only a source of income for the UNF and UWO, but is an opportunity to spread friendship amongst the Ukrainian community and maintain positive public relations.

Raffle tickets for an original painting by Orysia Horton were on sale. The draw took place on Sunday, September 15 at the Ukrainian National Federation Hall. Proceeds from the raffle assist with the UWO Scholarship Fund.
