Skrypnyk New UCC Executive Director

WINNIPEG – The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC National) is pleased to announce that Ostap Skrypnyk was appointed UCC Executive Director, effective September 3, 2002.

In addition to more than 10 years of senior level administrative experience with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Saskatchewan Provincial Council at his current position as its Executive Director, Skrypnyk brings a wealth of experience having worked with a number of Ukrainian Canadian community organizations and educational institutions. Skrypnyk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Alberta (U of A) and has done graduate studies at the U of A and Harvard University. Skrypnyk has published in Canada and Ukraine in the national and local press and contributed articles for all three volumes of The Encyclopedia of Ukraine.

Skrypnyk replaces Acting Exe-cutive Director Fredrick (Rick) Mantey who has directed UCC National operations since December 2001.

As Executive Director, Skrypnyk will be responsible for providing leadership in the development and implementation of relevant programs and services as set out by UCCs Board of Directors as well as liaison with the community, UCC branches, media, donors, government and other organizations.
