On behalf of the people of Ukraine and myself I would like to express to all Canadians sincere condolences for the loss of prominent statesman the Right Honourable Ramon Hnatyshyn.

As Governor General of Canada, Ramon Hnatyshyn put tremendous efforts into the development of the special relationship between our two nations and governments. The love and esteem for this distinguished son of Canada, of Ukrainian origin, will forever remain in the hearts of my compatriots.

Please extend my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
