Press ReleaseCommunique of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UkraineMay 27, 1999Download file in MS-WORDRecently accusations of Ukraine of violation of arms supply sanctions to certain countries, as well as of Ukraine's involvement in oil supply to the FRY, have appeared in foreign media reports. In this regard the Press Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Ukraine informs that Ukraine strictly abides all sanctions introduced by the appropriate resolutions of the UN Security Council. Any attempts to accuse Ukraine of violation of the international sanctions are groundless and not proved by concrete facts. Such accusations have been regarded in Ukraine as unfriendly actions. Behind these unfriendly actions one can see attempts to discredit Ukraine's active efforts aimed at returning of Kosovo crisis settlement on political and diplomatic track, as well as diminishing its contribution to maintaining stability and security in the Balkans. Ukraine does not supply oil to the FRY, does not provide its vessels for such supplies and does not possess information on oil transit via Ukraine's ports to the FRY by a third party. MFA of Ukraine has recommended to the Ukrainian companies to further abstain from participation in crude oil and oil products supply to the conflict area. For more information, please contact: |
