According to Finland's President Paavo Lipponen, the approval of the strategy is a step forward in mutual relations between the European Union and "a very important country that wants to play a role in Europe." He expressed the European Union's support for Ukraine in this regard as well as for Ukraine's reforms. According to him, Ukraine will feel safer if the strategy is implemented.
