On the second round of elections, two exit polls were conducted on election day. Their results were released on election day prior to the closing of polls at 8:00 PM Kyiv Time.
The results of these polls were very extensive and had a wide coverage over all regions of Ukraine. The vastly divergence of the election results with the exit polls formed only one of the many reasons for questioning the validity of the official results.
Exit Poll Results from Consortium of Kyiv International Institute for Sociology, research firm Democratic Iniatives, and the Razumkov Centre were obtained by interviewing 30,000 voters at 460 election stations across Ukraine. The polls were of the form of an annoymous paper ballot. The results are as follows:
Victor Yushchenko | 54% |
Victor Yanukovych | 43% |
Exit Poll Results from research firms Socis and Social Monitoring were obtained by interviewing 13,000 voters at an unknown number of locations across Ukraine. The polls were of the form of a face-to-face interviews. The results are as follows:
Victor Yushchenko | 49.4% |
Victor Yanukovych | 45.9% |
