The following Apology was aired on Sunday December 1st 1996 prior to the start of the CBS Television "60 Minutes" Program in Bold White Text on a Black Background on the Canadian CanWest-Global Television Network. The exact body of the text is as follows:

"60 MINUTES" SEGMENT
ENTITLED "UKRAINE: THE
UGLY FACE OF FREEDOM"
WAS AIRED WHICH
CONTAINED MATERIAL ON
THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE
WHICH CANWEST GLOBAL
DOES NOT ENDORSE. THE
CANWEST GLOBAL SYSTEM
REGRETS THAT THIS
SEGMENT WAS BROAD-
CAST AND APOLOGIZES
TO THE CANADIAN
UKRAINIAN COMMUNITY
FOR ANY HURT OR
PREJUDICE THAT THE
BROADCAST OF THIS
SEGMENT MAY HAVE
CAUSED THE UKRAINIAN
COMMUNITY.
