The National Executive of the Ukrainian Women's Association of Canada commissioned Vera Lazarowich-
Senchuk to write a series of icons depicting the Baptism of Ukraine into Holy Orthodoxy. This was a
millenium project for 1988. Later, the National Executive decided that these icons should be published
in a book for all to appreciate. To complete this publication, icons of the major feast days would
be added. Therefore, in addition to the icons in the UWAC collection, other icons written by
Vera Lazarowich-Senchuk were included. These were selected from private collections and iconostasis
of various Ukrainian Orthodox churches in Canada.
